Religious Education
Religious Education at Kingsley
Here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School our RE curriculum follows the Cheshire West & Chester Agreed Syllabus (2024) and gives pupils a clear, age‑appropriate understanding of a wide range of religious and non‑religious worldviews. Through weekly enquiry‑led lessons, children learn key knowledge, develop religious literacy, and build important skills such as empathy, reflection and critical thinking. Across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, pupils explore religious and non-religious world views including Christianity, Islam, the Jewish Faith, Hindu Dharma, Sikhi and Humanism, using discussion, circle time, drama, art, music and encounters with believers to deepen understanding. Our concept‑driven approach helps children make meaningful links between their own lives and the wider world, encouraging respect, tolerance and thoughtful engagement with different beliefs. By the end of Key Stage Two, our aim is that our pupils can explain key concepts, compare worldviews and reflect on their own developing personal worldview, demonstrating the spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth that prepares them to thrive in a diverse society.
