Behaviour at Kingsley
At Kingsley, we are proud of the calm, caring and inclusive environment we create for our children. Our approach to behaviour is warm, relationship-based and trauma-informed. We understand that behaviour is a form of communication and that strong, trusting relationships help children to feel safe, regulate their emotions and make positive choices.
Our school values – Ready, Safe and Respectful – provide clear and consistent expectations for everyone. When difficulties arise, we use restorative conversations to help children reflect, understand the impact of their actions, repair relationships and move forward successfully.
We recognise that every child is different. Reasonable adjustments and personalised support are provided where needed, while maintaining high expectations for all. Through encouragement, recognition and a consistent approach from adults, we help children develop responsibility, resilience and the skills they need to thrive at Kingsley and beyond.
The policies and resources below explain our approach in more detail.
