Starting nursery is a very special milestone, and at Kingsley we want every child to feel happy, safe, confident and ready to learn. Our Early Years department welcomes children from 3–5 years, with children learning alongside a qualified teacher and experienced, qualified Teaching Assistants who know and understand how young children learn best.
Our children have access to three carefully planned learning environments: our Seedlings classroom, Acorns classroom and our outdoor provision. Children are given sustained periods of time within their play to explore, investigate, create, develop their independence and follow their own interests. Through these experiences, we nurture curiosity, confidence and a love of learning from the very beginning.
For our 3–4-year-olds, we offer flexible options to support the needs of your family, including the 15-hour free entitlement, 30-hour funded entitlement and paid sessions. Your child can attend Kingsley as their sole early years setting, or you can choose to share their sessions with another nursery or childcare provider. To support consistency, continuity and strong relationships, we highly recommend that children attend for a minimum of two days each week.
We understand that starting nursery can feel like a big step for both children and parents. Our settling-in process is carefully planned to help your child become familiar with their new environment, adults and friends, building confidence at a pace that is right for them. We welcome families to visit us through our open day tours, where you can explore our Early Years environments and meet the team. If you are unable to attend an advertised open day, we are very happy to arrange a personal tour with a member of our Early Years team at a convenient time.
