Online Safety

Here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School we are enthusiastic about promoting and teaching E-Safety skills to our children and their parents or carers.

As we are all aware, technology is becoming much more a part of everyday life and we feel it is our aim and responsibility to educate our children, parents or carers to use the internet in a responsible way, but more importantly to keep them safe while they are online.

The internet can be a fantastic place for children and young people where they can talk to friends, be creative and have fun. However, just like in the real world sometimes things can go wrong.

If you or your child are worried or upset about something which has happened on the internet there is help out there.

Here are some sites that may provide any additional information or answer any questions you have about using the internet safely: - A guide to using Facebook for both adults and children. - Information about the messaging app, Kik, commonly used by tweens and teens. - Everything you need to know about Minecraft! - A site that answers some FAQs. - 10 tips for staying safe online. - A government website that advises you best on how to protect yourself, your family and your business. - this website provides information about setting up privacy settings for children accessing games via Xbox LIVE. - Advice on cyberbullying and social networking.  - This site has great resources for both parents and children with lots of videos to help. - This site has lots of top tips and resources for both adults and children. - Find out more about ceop, how to report a problem and how ceop are working with schools to help keep children safe. - Check out the eCadets website to find out more about the eCadets scheme that we have launched in our school and have a look at our eCadet page on our school website.
