Senior Leadership Team

Sarah Harrison

HEAD OF SCHOOL , DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING LEAD, ASSESSMENT, BEHAVIOUR AND EXPECTATIONS LEAD, HISTORY LEAD

I completed my BEd Teacher Training 25 years ago and have had the honour of working with children ever since.  I began my career working with a wonderful year six class in Middlewich; here I was able to develop my skills whilst taking on the role of Science lead – a subject which was my absolute passion. After 5 years, I moved to a school in Frodsham continuing my love of working with the older age range of children. After several years there I became the deputy head and have incredibly fond memories of my time there. I am fortunate to say that I still work very closely with that school as part of our FAVSP (Frodsham and Village Schools Partnership). It was at this school that I realised my keen interest in Literacy and became the lead for the subject across the school.  In 2014, I had the privilege of becoming the head teacher here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery. As the head, I feel incredibly proud to watch each individual child and staff member grow and develop.  When I’m not at our wonderful school, I love to travel and although I love discovering new places, my very favourite place to be is a small town in Spain called Competa. The mountains, buildings and scenery are just beautiful.  Our school is a very special place to learn, play and work in the most beautiful surroundings. We pride ourselves on making this an inclusive school with a tight-knit, family feel. As a staff team we take pride in really getting to know each pupil and each other, and we work together to both support and celebrate each pupil's unique needs and learning journey.

Lindsay Stroud

EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS) MANAGER, ACORNS CLASS TEACHER, PSHE LEAD, SAFEGUARDING TEAM

kingsleycommprimaryMH 003.jpg

I started my career in education 28 years ago, where I worked as an Early Years Teaching Assistant in Flintshire. I was fortunate to work with inspirational teachers and head teachers who inspired me to progress my career, and I subsequently completed my teaching degree at Chester University. Over the last nineteen years, I have truly immersed myself in teaching the youngest of our pupils and developing new techniques to teach children in fun and innovative ways.  My initial teaching post enabled me to gain a good understanding of the Early Years curriculum, whilst having the opportunity to work alongside a colleague in a two-form entry school, to fully embrace play-based learning. After four years, I moved on in my career and became an Early Years Children’s Centre Consultant for the Local Authority. This not only strengthened my pedagogy but also increased my passion for inspiring children and young families to have a love for learning. After four wonderful years, I returned to teaching once again. In my previous and current post, I have taken on the role as a senior leader for Early Years.  I have worked at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery for 8 years, after a short time of working in the school I had a great appreciation for the warmth and family atmosphere that the school beholds. I made the decision to move my own daughters to our school, knowing it would greatly benefit their education. They joined in year two and Reception, this was one of the best decisions I made.  My daughters had a successful and rewarding time at Kingsley Primary School before starting their next adventure at Helsby High School.  I adore family time, more recently my daughters are really investing in their sporting interests and so I have become a regular spectator at the netball court and football pitches. When I am not taxiing my daughters, I particularly enjoy relaxing activities such as, cooking and lettering. I also love Art activities and find them extremely calming.  You will only need to visit Kingsley School to feel the warmth and kindness, it has such a wholeness about it and it is honestly a privilege to work here. The children are a delight to teach and our families truly come together as one. I feel extremely lucky to work in such a lovely family-oriented school. Having had the luxury of my own daughters being educated here, I feel like I have a stronger connection to the community and the children.

Marianne Speed

SENDCo, OAK CLASS TEACHER, MFL LEAD

kingsleycommprimaryMH 012.jpg

I have many wonderful roles at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery, which include first and foremost being Team Oak’s class teacher. I’m also the school SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator). This means I help to support children who have additional needs within our school, such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Irlens, by working closely with their class teachers and also with the children and families themselves. I myself have Irlens and use a purple or dark blue overlay when I’m reading. This year, I passed my NASENCO award (National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordinators) through the University of Chester, which I’m really proud of, because it was really difficult! I am also the coordinator for Modern Foreign Languages; at Kingsley, where we learn French as our main foreign language. I love teaching Spanish too, so each year I enjoy leading Spanish club. Part of my teaching degree was a French specialism, so I taught in Nice, France for a month, which was a fantastic experience!  I love opportunities to develop my knowledge and experience, so since becoming a teacher, I’ve also completed the Maths Specialist Teacher Award (MaST) at Edge Hill University, my Middle Leader’s Qualification (NPQML) and have participated in a Teaching French in Primary School project with the British Council, which involved a week’s course in Carcassonne, France.  I have now been teaching for 13 years! Before teaching at Kingsley, I taught at a large primary school in Ellesmere Port, where I also worked with Mrs Reeves and Mr Dennett. My favourite subjects to teach are French, Art and Maths. Maths because I used to find it hard when I was in school, but love seeing those moments when it finally clicks!  When I’m not teaching, I love going to the gym, where I enjoy doing strength training. I also love taking part in fitness, running and triathlon events throughout the year – I find it is a fabulous way to switch off and concentrate on something which can rest my brain a little bit! I have recently competed in a competition called Hyrox in London, which was really tough, but incredibly fun! This April I’m also taking place in the London Marathon for 2024, where I’m raising money for the British Dyslexia Association – I’ll keep you posted on my training updates!  What I love about Kingsley is the people; it is a delight to work with such a kind, hardworking group of adults and children and seeing how each class develops academically, emotionally and in maturity across the course of the year is a real privilege. I also have to say that 'Nature’s Nook', our woodland area, is an incredible feature of our school too!

Bev McColl

LEARNING MENTOR, TAF LEAD, SAFEGUARDING TEAM

kingsleycommprimaryMH 016.jpg

I have had the pleasure of working with young people and their families for over 25 years. Throughout this time I have had many training opportunities including children’s mental health, attachment and safeguarding. However, I feel the most valuable learning has come from the many families that have allowed and trusted me to work alongside them.  Within my role as Learning Mentor I am passionate about building relationships with young people and families, so that we can work together to overcome barriers that may be impacting on their engagement with school life in order to achieve the best outcomes. As TAF lead, I work alongside families to identify additional needs and vulnerabilities. Together we then look at the actions required to meet those needs and work together to achieve these actions.  I am based in our nurture room, a welcoming safe space for our young people to access when needed.  Away from school, I enjoy keeping fit and I often wonder what my P.E. teacher would say if they knew I now run for pleasure and work out regularly. I was always last at cross country and would do anything to avoid running and sports!  I consider it an honour to work at Kingsley C.P. Every day I learn from the young people, and families I work alongside. Our school is an inclusive, warm environment that focuses on nurturing our young people. We celebrate diversity and embrace every family’s uniqueness.

SEEDLINGS CLASS TEACHER, RE AND MUSIC LEAD

kingsleycommprimaryMH 009.jpg

Hello I'm Miss Tasker and the Nursery teacher here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery school.  I initially started working here when I was a student completing my final PGCE placement. After working at a school in Chester, I happily returned and have taught across all Key Stages over the past 7 years that I have worked here, and I am thrilled to be part of such a kind and caring team.  I am the subject leader for Religious Education and Music. We have been very fortunate to have had visitors come to our school from all different faiths that we explore throughout our curriculum in Religious Education.  I am Mummy to my 5 year old daughter and when I am not teaching, you will find me spending time with my family out exploring. I am a member of Chester Zoo and as a family we enjoy finding new and exciting creatures to spot there.  As my daughter loves going to the theatre, we love to find different shows to go and watch, especially the wonderful Julia Donaldson shows.  What I love about Kingsley is the friendly environment the staff create. As a team, we are passionate about giving our children here an exciting and enriched learning environment. I love being part of the Early Years department and supporting the children as they begin their educational journey here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery.

Amanda Bruce

SEEDLINGS TEACHING ASSISTANT, FIRST AID LEAD

kingsleycommprimaryMH 005.jpg

My whole career has been in childcare. I started as a Nursery Nurse in my home county of Cumbria, before I took a break from work and moved around the country with my husband and young family for his career, and finally settling in Cheshire. My daughter started at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery in Reception, and I saw an opportunity to get back into my career with the opening of Tree House (our wrap around care).  I then moved into a Teaching Assistant role within the school and have worked here for 6 years. I have worked both 1:1 and as a Teaching Assistant. As part of my role I teach 'Read Write Inc', and I am the school’s First Aid Lead.  My daughter has recently moved on to Helsby High, but my son still attends Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery. We love being outdoors, and our wonderful grounds provide the space to learn outside the classroom. As a family, you will find us in the forest, walking the dog or in a river or lake paddle boarding. When not doing these activities, you will find us at Helsby Rugby club. Both my children and husband play, and I am a volunteer where you will find me supplying the team with their kit and training gear in our club shop.

Willow Team

Lucy Hargreaves

WILLOW CLASS TEACHER, LITERACY AND PHONICS LEAD, ART LEAD

kingsleycommprimaryMH 015.jpg

My name is Mrs Hargreaves and I am the Willow class teacher, teaching Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, and the Literacy and ‘Read Write Inc’ lead here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery. Consequently, I have a huge passion for all things phonics, reading, writing and handwriting related, as it’s incredibly important to me to ensure that our children reach their full potential in this area. Additionally, as an ex-artist, I am also the art subject leader, and have designed a progressive and skill-based art curriculum for our school.  This is my sixth year of teaching after receiving first class honours in Primary Education at the University of Chester. I am also the proud winner of ‘Student Teacher of the Year’ which I received at the Cheshire School Awards. Since graduating, I gained a position here at Kingsley and then never left, quickly falling in love with the school and its nurturing and warm ethos. I enjoy teaching all subjects, where I always endeavour to bring the curriculum alive via a fun and creative approach. During which, I take risks to promote engagement, incorporating humour, active participation, role-play, handmade resources and lots and lots of…puppets!  In my spare time, I’m always going on adventures with my nine-year-old son, Zachary. I also like doing DIY projects, sketching, painting, and I adore gardening at my home in North Wales.  I love being part of the Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery team, particularly because it feels like a community, with pupils, parents and staff working together with mutual respect and kindness. In Team Willow, we refer to ourselves as a family, a notion that transcends the walls of my classroom and flows throughout the entire school.

Cheryl Taylor

TEACHING ASSISTANT

kingsleycommprimaryMH 018.jpg

I'm one of the teaching assistants at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery, currently supporting Mrs Hargreaves as part of the Willow team.  I began my career as an Early Years teacher in Chester where I taught across Reception, Year 1 and 2.  Here I worked as a Literacy Co-ordinator and led the Key Stage 1 team.  I took a career break to bring up my twin boys until they started school here at Kingsley, and I began working here as part of our Nursery team.  I have been here ever since and my boys are now in year 5!  Whilst working here, I've been lucky enough to move around and gain experience working in both Reception and Year 1.  In my spare time I enjoy traveling, walking and spending weekends with my family.  I like to watch my boys play football with their friends, and support them playing for their local football team 'Frodsham Junior Football Club'.  We all love animals and so we spend time at Chester Zoo and love exploring Delamere Forest and our local area.  Our school is like a big family and everyone is so kind and have looked after us each and every day.  We are happiest outdoors and so learning in nature through our Forest School and within our extensive beautiful grounds, makes this school the perfect place for us.

Becky Carmicheal

TEACHING ASSISTANT

kingsleycommprimaryMH 039.jpg

I am a current 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 1, having also worked as a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 2, and previously as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant within another local school.  I am trained in Team Teach and have also undertaken courses focusing on Autism in girls.  I feel a close connection to Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery, my son transitioned to High School last year and he was supported here from Reception all the way through to Year 6 with a diagnosis of ADHD, Irlens and Dyslexia. It was through my personal experience with my son that prompted me to train and volunteer to help other children with similar needs. My daughter is currently in KS2 and thrives in this nurturing school environment. All the teachers know the children by name, know their strengths and focus on their wellbeing.  My personal interest is animals. Most people who know me, know how much I love dogs, so I spend most of my spare time walking my lovely Labrador Tilly. Apart from that I love music, spending time with family and supporting Liverpool FC. I am very proud to be part of the Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery team.

Polly Robinson

TEACHING ASSISTANT

Polly Robinson(1).jpg

I have over 40 years of experience working in a wide variety of educational establishments and have worked with pupils with special educational needs ranging from ages 2 to 82 years!  I am a fully qualified and experienced Childcare Practitioner and am Team Teach qualified.  I'm Kingsley born and bred, a mother of two grown up children and Carer for an elderly parent. I enjoy gardening, eating out and riding my bike - weather permitting!  The best thing about working here is the children followed closely by the supportive staff. Everyone is very friendly and the school is very inviting.  Many of our children travel from surrounding villages and everyone is welcome here.  Our school grounds are amazing, we have three playgrounds, a large all weather pitch, a huge playing field, a pond and a fantastic wooded area we love and call Nature’s Nook!  I consider myself to be very lucky to be part of the Kingsley family.

Pine Team

Kelsey Sanderson-Hutley

PINE CLASS TEACHER, GEOGRAPHY AND COMPUTING LEAD

kingsleycommprimaryMH 035.jpg

I'm Mrs Sanderson-Hutley and the Pine class teacher here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery.  I have worked here for just over 6 years now, teaching in Year 1, Nursery, Year 3 and now Year 2 & 3. I am the subject lead for Geography and Computing, and love learning all about our ever changing world and (trying) to keep up to date with all things tech!  I spend all of my free time with my husband, Sam and our two daughters. Leighton is 4 years old and in a Reception class. Aubrey is 2 years old and is looking forward to starting at Nursery very soon! Although Aubrey, Sam and I are lovers of staying at home, Leighton isn’t and so we are often out and about exploring. We love visiting our local park, the Cotebrook Horse Shire Centre and especially Chester Zoo.  My favourite thing about our school is our community. We have a wonderful community of families who join us at the events hosted throughout the year. There’s nothing quite like parading on a float through Frodsham under the stars on a cold December night, or hearing laughing and music playing across the fields as the sun sets at Family Camp. Our staff here work incredibly hard and our parents continue to support our wonderful events, these are definitely my favourite part of our school.

Becky Billington

TEACHING ASSISTANT

kingsleycommprimaryMH 040.jpg

I joined Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery in October 202.  Last year I worked as a 1:1 and I currently work in the mornings as a Teaching Assistant in our Pine class. I also lead a SPaG group every morning with a small group of children. My previous experience is in social care, where I worked for 20 years before deciding on a career change.  I have two daughters who both attended Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery and I used to be a pupil here myself.   Outside of work, I have a dog called Frankie who I enjoy walking and I often bump into children and families from school when I’m out on my walks.  I love football and coach the Frodsham girls under 11’s team in my spare time, most of my team attend our school. I love working at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursey school as it has a real family feel to it. I think that as a school we really take time to get to know our pupils and their individual needs. We understand that everyone is different and we celebrate every child and their strengths .

Maple Team

Kerri Evans

MAPLE CLASS TEACHER, SCIENCE AND P.E LEAD, EDUCATIONAL VISITS COORDINATOR, STAFF GOVERNOR

kingsleycommprimaryMH 019.jpg

I'm Miss Evans and the Maple class teacher here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery.  I am currently in my fourth year of teaching, having graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Primary Education from the University of Chester. I have worked at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery for all of those years and gained experience in teaching across many year groups including Years 2, 3, 4 and 6. I have studied and experienced the importance of a hands-on, practical curriculum and the impact this has on children’s engagement in subjects.  I therefore love to teach outdoors and through interesting activities wherever and whenever I can.  Outside of school, I enjoy being in the outdoors whether that be taking my dog for walks in new places, or spending some time camping and enjoying the simplicities of good company and making memories. I also love spending time with my family especially my little niece.  To me, Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery is a community of children and adults who are supportive of each other and together ensure that all people, whether they are part of our school, local or world communities feel welcome, respected and accepted.

Helen Shingler

TEACHING ASSISTANT

kingsleycommprimaryMH 038.jpg

I currently work as a 1-1 Teaching Assistant as part of the Maple team, with 14 years' experience in my role.  I have been part of the Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery team for the last three years, working across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  I predominately support children with Special Educational Needs.  Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, and we enjoy exploring National Trust properties, country parks, forests or beaches.  Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School is an extremely special place, with such a family feel.  I am so proud of the amazing children and the wonderful, inspiring team here.

Chestnut Team

Rich Garrett

CHESTNUT CLASS TEACHER, MATHS AND OUTDOOR LEARNING LEAD, FOREST SCHOOL TRAINED

kingsleycommprimaryMH 006.jpg

My name is Mr Garrett and I am the class teacher for Team Chestnut.  Alongside my class teaching responsibilities, I also lead Maths and Outdoor Learning across our school.  I have been teaching for over 14 years and I am lucky to have spent 9 of those years as part of the Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery team.  During my time teaching, I have led a range of subjects such as Literacy, PE, Music, Maths and Outdoor Learning and taught in most years across the two Key Stages. I love being outside and active, which prompted me to complete the Level 3 Forest School qualification. Following on from this, I now take classes out to experience outdoor learning sessions and regularly set up afterschool Forest School clubs.  When I’m not in school, I love spending time with my young family. Together, we enjoy camping trips to France, visits to the beach, playing sports and games and walking our Cockapoo Ted in the forest and hills. I also love seeing new and exciting places and have spent a lot of time travelling around the world seeing places such as Asia, Indonesia, Australasia, South America and some of the Pacific Islands. I always try to use these experiences to enhance my teaching in school.  Having been here for 9 years, it is clear to see that I love this place. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful school, full of wonderful children and staff. We have a real sense of community and I love it when we all get together at the amazing family events, such as our Summer Camp, Christmas Fair and the District Sports in the summer. There is always such a warm and happy feeling around our school, which hits you as soon as you walk through the door. I feel privileged to work in such a special place.

Paula Carswell

TEACHING ASSISTANT, ELSA

kingsleycommprimaryMH 025.jpg

I'm a Teaching Assistant at Kingsley Community Primary School and offer SEND support in class. At present I work on a 1:1 basis in Chestnut class and support our nurture room in the afternoons. I have been at Kingsley school for 23 years so you can tell how much I love it!  I first trained as a pastry chef then changed direction to gain my NNEB, working in several different schools.   I then went on to develop my skills working with children with many differing SEND or emotional needs. I'm a first aider, ELSA (emotional literacy support assistant)  and recently qualified as a swimming teacher following the Learn to Swim program both in and out of school.  I have two children who both came to Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School and loved it here. In my spare time alongside teaching swimming, I'm a rowing club member and I love camping and the outdoors. For many years I have supported the local scout and explorer groups who also fundraise for local charities.  Our school has a fantastic team of staff who work very closely together with the children as a fun yet hardworking community. I am proud to be a part of Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery as it's so inclusive with absolutely no outsiders! I love that we all grow and develop together both staff and children to celebrate uniqueness and foster individuality.

TEACHING ASSISTANT, PPA COVER

kingsleycommprimaryMH 013.jpg

I work in Year 6 and Reception supporting the class teachers, as well as covering PPA in the afternoons, teaching mostly History, Geography and French. I am a qualified teacher with a degree in History, so it is great to get to make the most of my background. I also look after our library and prior to retraining, I worked for Borders, Waterstones and Blackwells bookshops.  I have been part of Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery for four years now, although it feels longer! I enjoy the family atmosphere and the way the team all work together, as well as the beautiful space we are lucky to have here.

Administration Team

Wendy Paton

BURSAR, RESPONSIBLE FOR FINANCE AND HR

kingsleycommprimaryMH 023.jpg

Having previously worked in finance for a London publishing house and as an admin assistant in a Primary School in Bury (Greater Manchester), I decided to combine my skills and came to work at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery in 2016 as school Bursar.  I have two grown up daughters and a granddaughter and live with Monty the school dog, who has been coming into school since he was eight weeks old to act as a nurture dog for the school. In my spare time, I enjoy going for long walks with Monty, going on lovely trips to interesting places around the UK and further afield, binge watching Netflix series and knitting (although I am not the best knitter, so each item I make is bespoke!)  Everyone at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery is an individual and treated as such, there are no outsiders here. We are all one big family and work together to make every child’s experience a good one. The staff are all passionate about what they do and this shows in the outcomes of our pupils. I am proud to be a member of the Kingsley team and hope that I continue to be a part of this wonderful school for many years to come.

Vicki Amery

DATA AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

kingsleycommprimaryMH 024.jpg

I have worked in education for over 15 years in a variety of roles. I have been both a Business Manager and Higher Level Teaching Assistant within a Special School/Pupil Referral Unit, working with excluded teenagers with behaviour difficulties and SEN.  I currently work part time to enable me to make the most of family time with my husband, son and fur-baby at our holiday home in Anglesey.  I started working at Kingsley Community Primary & Nursery School in May 2023 and I was welcomed with open arms by such a talented and family orientated team, where I felt at home instantly. The main thing I think that makes this school special is the staff and their love for putting children’s individual needs first. Everyone is welcome and is encouraged to thrive!

Monty

SCHOOL DOG

kingsleyMH 615.jpg

Woof! Hi there I'm Monty, Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School's Cockapoo nurture dog.  I love spending time with the pupils and staff and I try to charm as many walks and belly rubs as I can from them all!  In return, I support pupils in lot of different ways such as offering companionship and providing opportunities to gain responsibility, enhance confidence, nurture well-being and develop empathy.  I always offer a friendly floppy ear to listen, and will stand beside you to support you to grow.  In my free time I live with my wonderful human Wendy.  We enjoy long walks together, lots of cuddles and if I'm a VERY good dog - a yummy treat!   When at school, I have fun exploring our brilliant outdoor areas such as the large playing fields, our Daily Mile Track, Nature's Nook and our allotments.  I'm so proud to be a member of the Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery team and consider myself a very lucky dog.

Site Management

Tim Vernon

SITE MANAGER

kingsleyMH 611(1).JPG

I'm the Site Manager at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery school, responsible for keeping the building and its grounds safe, and in an attractive and enjoyable place for both the children to develop and for the staff to enjoy working. I oversee maintenance projects, plan for future works and liaise with external contractors, while also fulfilling the traditional caretaker role in the school.  I'm trained in Health and Safety in the Workplace by the TUC and this is the primary focus of my job. Prior to starting here at Kingsley CP School, I worked in property maintenance and these two combined led me to wanting to work here, that my daughter is also a pupil here may have helped a bit too!  Away from my clipboard, brush and spade I enjoy walking, especially up and down hills, watching groups that no-one else has heard of and watching sport, namely Cricket and Rugby League. I am also a member of Kingsley Parish Council.  My favourite part of the school is undoubtedly the grounds. Our school was originally a secondary school - built at the same time as Helsby High School - which explains why we have such amazing vast outside space. I take pride in making it look better and better each year and involve the children in this through our gardening clubs and the Eco Council. I can remember vividly the outside spaces from when I was in primary school and I hope our pupils will look back equally fondly over the grounds here.

Tree House Team

Jake Powell

TREE HOUSE MANAGER

kingsleycommprimaryMH 008.jpg

My name is Jake and I am the Manager of Tree House, our school's wrap around care provision. I joined the Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery team in 2020, after spending three years in a similar role at a school in Cheshire East. I completed my PGCE in Primary in 2014, so you may see me covering different classes in the school as well! Outside of school, I enjoy theatre and am a member of a number of local amateur dramatics groups, including being chair of the village's local youth theatre, Kingsley Players Youth Theatre (affectionately known as KPYT). I like the school trips that are offered to the children, and you can sometimes find me accompanying the children on these.

Jonny Riddoch

PLAY WORKER

kingsleycommprimaryMH 037.jpg

Hello, I am Jonathan Riddoch. I currently work at the morning and after school club ‘Treehouse’, as well as being a midday assistant where I referee the football matches at lunch time. Normally you will find me outside playing football, while making sure the children are happy and safe on the playground. I started working at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery school nearly 4 years ago, where I began my Level 2 apprenticeship ‘Children and Young Peoples Workforce’. Before this, I started working for a charity called CHAPS (Cheshire Autism Practical Support) where I’ve been for 6 years in addition to working at the school. During CHAPS, I lead the sporting and swimming activities which I really enjoy doing. Every Saturday morning, I coach football at the local leisure centre and have recently passed my Level 1 football coaching qualification. I am going to start my Level 2 coaching qualification and hope to one day become a professional football coach. In my free time I enjoy going to the football with my Dad to watch the famous Derby County, where I’ve been going for over 20 years now. I spend time with my mum and sister walking our dog ‘Wilba’ all over Frodsham. Wilba especially likes it when we go to Chester and walk along the River Dee as he knows brisket is on offer when we go to Hickorys! I also have a strong interest in Tennis, a sport I have been playing for many years and been lucky enough to have seen the likes of Roger Federer and Andy Murray play at Wimbledon. I really like the togetherness at our school, it’s a place where the staff are very supportive. I like the schools principals and belief in providing a safe environment for the children and staff. The children thoroughly enjoy the afternoon clubs such as football and tag rugby as well as singing their hearts out in the choir. One of my personal connections with the school is that our Head Mrs Harrison, was mine and my sister's Year 6 teacher. I also have fond memories completing here during District Sports.

I have been Catering Manager at Kingsley for the past 2 years and work alongside my amazing kitchen assistant to promote healthy eating and to prepare and cook meals from scratch for our children and staff.  The reason why I love working here is the amazing children. They are lovely and polite and we have a little chat with them all throughout the week. The staff are amazing people to work with, they have been extremely supportive since I started and are incredibly motivated and energetic. I am very creative and have a range of hobbies, including baking celebration cakes and a variety of cupcakes and tray bakes.  I also have an allotment where I grow a large variety of vegetables, fruit and flowers. I am Treasurer on the allotment committee and play an active part in the allotment community. I have applied for grants and been successful in the applications so that we were able to have site work done. Another hobby of mine which has turned into a small business, is making Jute Rope and Cotton Cord baskets. These are a range of eco-friendly natural baskets that I sew on my sewing machine. They can be used in any room in your home, or make the perfect gift that you can fill with products.
