Religious Education

At Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery we are committed to providing our children with a stimulating, meaningful and relevant curriculum in Religious Education. Christianity is taught in every year group with Christmas and Easter being delivered in a progressive way through KS1 and KS2. Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism are also covered underlining how vital it is for our children to demonstrate respect, tolerance and understanding for the beliefs of others.

The curriculum we are following has an enquiry based approach where children not only learn knowledge but crucially develop an understanding of religion and how beliefs impact on daily lives.

The children are encouraged to research and question different religious beliefs and customs and it is our hope that we can help our children at Kingsley to develop into empathic and confident students who can discuss, debate, ask questions and seek answers in a compassionate way.

The school aims to enrich our RE curriculum through welcoming a range of visitors and speakers, working in partnership with other schools, celebrating key events in our assemblies and taking part in trips and visits.
