Governors
The Board of Governors at Kingsley CP & Nursery School
The Governing Body is essential for the management of the school. They are legally responsible for our finances, teaching and learning, the premises and for the strategic development of the school. Our Governors have regular contact with the school and have a clear understanding of what happens. Our Governors are like our critical friends, they are aware of our strengths and weaknesses and continue to be fully informed about the day to day life at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School. The Governing Body include representation from staff, parents, Cheshire West and our local community of Kingsley. Feedback is always welcome and we can be contacted through the school office.
Meet our Governors
Emma Morris
Chair of Governors
Governor Responsible for Attendance
I have been a parent at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School for the last 15 years, and I am delighted to be joining the governing board. I am looking forward to using my perspective as a parent to help the governing board understand a parent's viewpoint. In my career as a nurse, as a parent and as a governor, I am passionate about seeing children achieve their potential in all areas of life. This, along with my commitment to seeing continuous school development, will help facilitate Kingsley to go from strength to strength.
Sarah Harrison
Headteacher
I sit on the Governing Body in my capacity as the Head Teacher here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School. I have been the Head Teacher here for seven years, having previously been deputy head teacher at Manor House Primary School. I adore my role as head teacher and I am obviously exceptionally proud of all the members of staff and the wonderful children we currently have on roll. Away from education, I am a mum to my awesome son, Will - and I also have a great interest in fitness, especially running. The children at school spur me on and enjoy taking part in the fitness clubs I run!
Business/Financial Interests - Nothing to declare
Karen Neal
Co-opted Governor
Governor responsible for progress in Maths & Literacy
I got to know Kingsley Community Primary School very well through my leadership of Initial Teacher Training and I never failed to receive a warm welcome from staff and pupils alike on my regular visits there.
Working as a Senior Leader at Helsby High School, I have vast knowledge and experience in leading Teaching and Learning, CPD and Performance Management and felt I could contribute positively as a Governor when a co-opted vacancy became available. I have thoroughly enjoyed my work with Staff and Governors helping to shape the school’s vison and ethos and to lead the school from strength to strength
Outside of work I am mum to 2 grown-up boys and enjoy the outdoors and travelling to foreign climes.
Tony Mitchell
Vice Chair of Governors
Governor responsible for Health & Safety and Premises
As a recent member of the Governing body, I am looking forward to getting more involved with the school and its future.
I have two children currently attending the school. When we first moved to Cheshire in 2016, I remember looking at schools. Kingsley C.P. immediately felt right for our family. We knew that the kids would be well supported through the hard work and dedication of all the teachers and staff.
There is nothing I like more than being outdoors. I am fortunate to have a job that gets me outside every day and creates outdoor adventures for others. In my spare time I love taking the family out and about on walks and to explore the local area.

Kerri Evans
Staff Governor - Term of office ends on 17/03/2025
I am the staff governor at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School. I am currently in my second year of teaching at Kingsley CP after qualifying in July 2020. I also completed my final year placement here and was therefore very excited to join the team after qualifying, having experienced what a fantastic school Kingsley CP really is. As a staff governor, I will be representative of the staff at Kingsley CP and hope to bring value and knowledge of the school to our meetings to support our continuous strive for improvement and excellence. Away from school, I love the outdoors. Most weekends I go hiking with my dog and love to explore new places on camping adventures. My love of the outdoors is also utilised within my teaching – taking advantage of our fantastic school grounds to explore and consolidate learning in many subjects.
