The Board of Governors at Kingsley CP & Nursery School

The Governing Body is essential for the management of the school. They are legally responsible for our finances, teaching and learning, the premises and for the strategic development of the school. Our Governors have regular contact with the school and have a clear understanding of what happens.  Our Governors are like our critical friends, they are aware of our strengths and weaknesses and continue to be fully informed about the day to day life at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursery School. The Governing Body include representation from staff, parents, Cheshire West and our local community of Kingsley. Feedback is always welcome and we can be contacted through the school office.

Vice Chair - Adam Kilborn

Co-opted Governor - 4 year term of office - Ends November 2019

I started my second stint as a Governor in November 2015. Having worked with the Mrs Harrison previously when I was a Governor at her previous school, where she was a Deputy Head, I jumped at the opportunity to be a Governor at Kingsley County Primary. Even in my short time on the Governing Board, I have witnessed significant development of the school through the hard work of the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff and I hope to be able to continue to support the further development of the school. I can see the positive effect the school has on the its pupils, who are really the best ambassadors for the school, and I am committed to ensuring that current and future pupils also benefit from the same opportunities. I also sit on the Governing Body of Frodsham Manor House Primary School as Chair.

Business/Financial Interests - None to declare

Head Teacher - Sarah Harrison

I sit on the Governing Body in my capacity as the Head Teacher here at Kingsley Community Primary and Nursey School. I have been the Head Teacher here for five years, having previously been deputy head teacher at Manor House Primary School. I adore my role as head teacher and I am obviouisly exeptionally proud of all the members of staff and the 202 wonderful children we currently have on roll. Away from education, I am a mum to my awesome son, Will  - and I also have a great interest in fitness, especially running. The children at school spur me on and enjoy taking part in the fitness clubs I run!

Business/Financial Interests - Nothing to declare

 Co-opted Governor - Term ends 13/11/2021

When I moved to Kingsley with my family in 2015, I was really impressed with the community ethos of the school and how quickly we were all welcomed into that community. So fast forward a couple of years, when the opportunity to support the school in the role of governor arose, I jumped at it.

As a parent of two boys in year 6, I've first-hand experience of what the school is really like. And as a business owner, I felt I had some professional skills and expertise that I could put to good use for the benefit of the school.

This is my first stint as a school governor, so I'm still learning the ropes, but I'm very much enjoying the opportunity to help shape the future of our school for the benefit of all.

Sue Elliot

Co-opted Governor - Term of Office ends 19th July 2019

I originally came into the Governing body as a Community Governor in 2012, under the previous Head Teacher.    I have two grown up daughters, who both attended this primary school and I have, over the years, seen enormous changes in Education.    I have witnessed, both as a parent and a Governor, the hard work and dedication of all the staff and teachers at Kingsley Community Primary school & nursery.   I am proud to be able to add my support to the continuance of that  sterling work.   One of my favourite activities as a Governor is being able to meet with the pupils, at the school and nursery.    The children continually amaze me with their work ethic and their positive outlook, fostered and supported by all of the adults at the school.    Long may it and the school continue to prosper and move from strength to strength in the future.

On a personal note, I am a local Brownie Guider with Guiding UK, I do volunteer work in Family Support during Bereavement for a local Hospice and I am a working actor and a member of several North West drama groups.

I started my role as Parent Governor in February 2018 and have one child currently enjoying all that Kingsley CP has to offer. I am very passionate about helping the school unlock each childs potential, to inspire a positive future for all. Having spent the last 15 years working in various leadership roles in some of the UK's largest businesses, I am looking forward to being able to leverage this experience to support the team in making Kingsley CP one of the best schools nationally.
