Acorns 2018 - 2019

Mrs Lambert

Mrs Lambert is passionate about teaching young children and is dedicated to leading our Early Years department.

Mrs Lambert is eager to ensure that children’s early experiences of school are fun, exciting and extremely happy. Allowing children to learn through play will make learning a positive and memorable experience. In doing so, she is very passionate about engaging families in their child’s learning as much as possible. Therefore, watch out for all the new initiatives and opportunities that will appear this year.

Outside of school, Mrs Lambert loves to spend time with her two beautiful daughters. Family days out and about are always a must and they are regularly seen at Chester Zoo or the Ice Cream Farm, who could ever resist a scrummy ice-cream or even a cake at a café!

Stay and Play

Thank you to our families for staying for our morning Stay and Play sessions.  It has been lovely to observe our children starting their learning as soon as they skip through the doors.  Their enthusiasm is infectious!

The activities are carefully planned to reflect learning that week. We will plan active learning opportunities to engage the children and also provide ideas to support home learning. Please ask a member of staff if you would like any other practical ideas to support your child's learning at home.

Kingsley Journal

Every child has their own Kingsley Journal and it is to be kept in the clear school bags that we have provided. Each day the journal will be brought to school and kept in their tray. Please check your child's bag and Kingsley Journal on a daily basis for letters and messages.

The Kingsley Journal is used for:

  • Home challenges - these will be given out on a Friday and will be checked by the following Thursday.
  • Reading - Shared Books will be changed once a week and Guided Reading books will be changed on a designated day (this will start when you child has developed reading skills).
  • Messages between parents and teaching staff.
  • Behaviour Card - At the back of the Kingsley Journal you will find your child's behaviour card.
  • Wowchers! - When your child has done something that has made you go WOW! Please let us celebrate this in school by completing the wowcher.
  • All Kingsley Journals will be collected in on a Thursday.

Autumn Term

We have had a fantastic fist term, the children have settled into school life brilliantly.  The children have enjoyed learning through our stories 'The Little Red Hen', 'The Gingerbread Man' and 'I'm Going to Eat this Ant'.  We have been little bakers over the term by making bread buns and gingerbread biscuits.  As well as cooking, we have been drawing and painting ome fabulous pieces of artwork.

The children have enjoyed the Christmas festivities and their acting skills have shone like twinkling stars on our stage.

Spring Term

The Spring term has lots to offer too, including some fabulous new stories which includes one of my favourites     'The Naughty Bus'... be warned, he is very mischievous!

Keep your eye on Twitter, as I regularly update it with photographs of your children's learning.
